Memorial Day weekend: Gospel Sing planned; Water Park opens for season

We all know what Memorial Day means!

It’s the official beginning of summer at Breaks Park.

Splash in the Park will open Friday May 27, and the Jubilee in the Breaks Gospel Event is planned for water parkSaturday, May 28 through Monday, May 30. Pedal boats and canoes will be available for rental, and interpretive programming is planned throughout the holiday weekend.

Splash in the Park opens Friday before Memorial Day for the summer season, and will be open daily through Labor Day, said Bradley. The water park will be open Monday through Thursday from 10 am to 6 pm; Friday and Saturday from 10 am to 8 pm; and Sunday from 1 pm to 8 pm. Beginning with Memorial Day weekend, the Rhododendron Restaurant will also be open daily through Labor Day, from 7 am to 9 pm.

Jubilee in the Breaks will run Saturday from 10 am to 8 pm; Sunday 10 am to 8 pm; and Monday 10 am to 2 pm.

Scheduled to perform on Saturday are Sounds of Salvation, Gospel Lights, Fall Creek Boys, Buddy Durett, His Way, Downpour, Gospel Grass Trio, Gospel Redeemers, Knight Family, Strings of Hope, Blood Bought Trio, Higher Vision, Anthony Phillips, New Hearts, Barbara Lowman, Trinity Heirs, Heavens Sake, Onsby Perry, Betty Tilley, Tools of the Carpenter, Mountain Grace, Bread of Life Singers, Curtis Moneyhun and Everpresent.

On Sunday, the following are set to perform: Sounds of Salvation, Gospel Lights, Bread of Life Singers, Buddy Durett, His Way, New Hearts, Truly Blessed, Mountain Grace, Knight Family, Higher Vision, Faith Singers, Anthony Phillips, Downpour, Barbara Lowman, Trinity Heirs, Heavens Sake, Onsby Perry, Gospel Redeemers, Betty Tilley, Curtis Moneyhun and Everpresent.

Scheduled performers for Monday are: Gospel Lights, Bread of Life Singers, Betty Tilley, Knight Family, Sounds of Salvation, Heavens Sake, Onsby Perry, His Way.

The performers won’t necessarily perform in the order listed, and the lineup is subject to change. Admission to the gospel event is free, however, a love offering is taken daily.
