For the first time, Breaks Park will host Breakfast with the Easter Bunny before the Easter Egg hunt on Saturday. It will run from 8:30 to 10:30 am with a breakfast buffet. The buffet will be $8.95 for adults and $4.95 for children up to 10 years old.
The Easter Egg hunt will have 3,000 eggs, with hundreds of prizes ranging from coloring books to electronics. The Egg Hunt will be for children ages 1 to 12, with three separate age groups: ages 1-3; ages 4-7; and ages 8-12. The event will be held on Potter’s Knoll. The Easter Bunny will arrive at 11:30 to pose for photos and hand out treats, and the Egg Hunt will begin promptly at noon.
This year, Breaks has also partnered with The Haysi-Clinchco Lions Club, the Haysi Kiwanis Club, and the Town of Haysi to make things even more exciting. Each egg at the Breaks Easter Egg hunt will contain the first part of a special phrase. The second half of that special phrase will be found in four lucky eggs at the Community Easter Egg Hunt held at the Haysi Kiwanis Park, beginning at 2 pm. The four participants who find both parts of the special phrase will win a $50 cash prize, donated by Belcher Insurance Agency. To win cash prizes, participants must attend both events.
“We couldn’t be happier to join with our community and civic partners to create a memorable day for local children,” said Breaks Superintendent Austin Bradley, “Both of these hunts have been good in the past and by working together we have made them even better,” he said.
The Easter buffet at the Rhododendron Restaurant will run from 11 am to 4 pm on Easter Sunday. It will feature pot roast with potatoes and carrots, spiral ham, mashed potatoes with brown gravy, green beans, glazed baby baby carrots, corn on the cob, yams, rolls, salad bar, and homemade desserts. The buffet will be $14.95 for ages 11 and up; $7.95 for ages 4 to 10; and ages 3 and under are free.
