Breaks Park Plans Sweetheart Dinner and Retreat Feb. 11

Breaks Interstate Park is planning a special getaway for couples in honor of Valentine’s Day. The Sweethearts Dinner and Retreat, full of ambiance and romance, is set for Saturday, February 11. It will include a candlelight dinner with music from The Joey Trivette and Friends Jazz Ensemble on Saturday night; a night’s stay in the Rhododendron Lodge; and a pancake breakfast on Sunday.

“We all enjoy doing something special on Valentine’s Day. We want to offer people an opportunity to get away from the everyday hustle-bustle of life,” said Superintendent Matthew O’Quinn, “The candlelight and jazz are a unique touch to make a memorable Valentine’s Day.”

Dinner will include a choice of Rib-Eye Steak or Grilled Chicken with tossed salad, baked potato, rolls, and a double hot fudge cake to share. Music will be provided by The Joey Trivette and Friends Jazz Ensemble, who have performed for many notable audiences and events, including President George Bush, and the New Orleans Jazz Festival. Dinner is by reservation only, and will be served from 5 pm to 8 pm Saturday night.

Couples will also enjoy a night’s stay in the Rhododendron Lodge Saturday night, and a pancake breakfast in the restaurant from 8 am to 11 am on Sunday morning.

The entire package is $145 per couple, tax included, and is available by reservation only. A dinner-only package is available for $75 per couple. Reservations must be pre-paid. Seating is limited, so those interested are encouraged to act quickly. Reservations are non-refundable, but are transferable. For reservations, call 276-865-4413 ext. 244.
