New operating hours after Labor Day, Fall events planned

out front fall decorationsAs we close out summer and head toward fall, we’d like to take a moment to remind you that the operating hours of some amenities and activities have changed.

Beginning Sept. 2 and running through Nov. 2:

Rhododendron Restaurant:
Monday and Tuesday: Closed
Wednesday and Thursday: 11 am to 8 pm
Friday and Saturday: 7 am to 9 pm
Sunday: 7 am to 8 pm

Our weekend buffets at the Rhododendron Restaurant, when available, will continue to be posted on our website, and also our Facebook page.

Visitor Center:
Monday – Wednesday: Closed
Thursday – Sunday: 10 am to 6 pm

While the Visitor Center hours have changed, you can still expect wonderful seasonal programming to continue on weekends. Join us for programs such as Tomahawk Throwing, Gristmill Demonstrations, Guided Hikes, craft activities, and more. To help you plan your stay, our programming schedule is posted each week here.

Boat Dock:
Weather permitting, the boat dock will be open from 11 am to 6 pm on Saturdays and Sundays.

Fall Events:
We’re looking forward to some beautiful fall colors in the next few weeks, and we also have some exciting things on our schedule of events that are yet to come —

25 – 26 — Nature Weekend

4 — Grundy and Clintwood Kiwanis 5K
11 – 12 — Molasses Stir-off & Appalachian Heritage Festival
18 — Pike County Extension’s ‘Homemaking in the Mountains’
24 – 25 — Campground Halloween Spectacular
