First Day Ride at Breaks Park – Southern Gap

Kick off the new year with a First Day Ride at Breaks Park – Southern Gap on January 1. Riders are welcome to enjoy most open trails throughout the property and celebrate the start of the year by getting out on the trails with friends and family.

For the best photo opportunities, we recommend riding and taking photos on the Coal Canyon and Ridgeview trails. Both trails are part of the Spearhead Trails system and offer great scenery for capturing your First Day Ride moment.

Important information for riders:
• A section of road at Breaks Park – Southern Gap will be closed due to construction.
• Please follow all posted signage and plan your route accordingly.
• All riders must observe all helmet laws and ride safely.
• A valid Spearhead Trails permit is required to ride Coal Canyon, Ridgeview, and any other Spearhead Trails.

How to get your First Day Ride sticker:
• Ride Breaks Park – Southern Gap trails on January 1st - 4th
• Take a photo of you or your group riding
• Post the photo on Facebook sometime between the 1st and the 4th
• Tag Southern Gap Outdoor Adventure
• Use the hashtag #BreaksFirstDayRide
• Submit the form linked below by January 7th with your information and photo post.

Everyone pictured in the submitted photo will receive an awesome First Day Ride sticker as a thank-you for riding with us and helping kick off the year at the Breaks.
